1.64. Antiblocking system of brakes

RECEPTIONS OF CORRECT BRAKING

Before the beginning of movement after a parking, be convinced, that the lay brake is switched off, and that the control lamp of brake system does not burn.

After movement on water or sinks of the car of a brake can become wet. Wet brakes are very dangerous, as the car cannot quickly stop. To dry up brakes, slightly press them during car movement while braking does not become normal, watching to running away over the car.

Do not slide under a bias on neutral transfer. Always hold transfer included in time of movement of the car, use brakes to lower speed of the car after that include a hill-climbing gear so that braking by the engine promoted maintenance of safe speed of movement.

Avoid style of driving with frequent sharp braking. Do not hold the left foot on a brake pedal constantly during driving, it can be dangerous, as it conducts to an overheat of brakes and loss of efficiency of their work. It also leads to the raised deterioration of details of brake system. If during movement there was a tyre puncture, slightly press a pedal of a brake and try to hold the car directly during decrease in speed. When you will lower speed enough, move down from road and completely stop the car in a safe place. If your car is equipped by an automatic transmission, do not suppose slow moving of the car forward. For this purpose, when the car is stopped, hold a foot on a brake pedal.

Accept safety measures at a parking on a bias. Include a lay brake and translate the selector in position "Р" (an automatic transmission) or the gear change lever in neutral position (a mechanical transmission). At parking on a bias develop forward wheels towards a border to prevent скатывание the car. At parking on lifting develop forward wheels aside from a border to prevent скатывание the car. If the border is absent or it is necessary to prevent скатывание the car from other reasons, block wheels.

In some conditions your lay brake can freeze in the included position. It happens when round back brakes snow or ice or, if back brakes wet accumulates. If there is a risk of that the lay brake can freeze, include it only for a while, while you do not move the selector to position "Р" (an automatic transmission) or the gear change lever in position of the first transfer or backing transfer thereby to block car wheels. After that switch off a lay brake.

Do not keep the car on a bias by means of an accelerator pedal. It can lead to a transmission overheat. Always use a pedal of a brake or a lay brake.

ANTIBLOCKING SYSTEM OF BRAKES

The antiblocking system of brakes (АВS) prevents blocking of wheels at sharp braking or at movement on road with a rough covering. The electronic block of management of antiblocking system of brakes (АВS) traces frequency of rotation of wheels of the car and regulates pressure of a brake liquid in each working brake cylinder. Thereby, in emergencies or on smooth road this system improves controllability of the car during braking.
The prevention

In an operating time of antiblocking system of brakes (АВS) at braking on a brake pedal the weak pulsation can be felt. Also during movement of the car you can hear noise in motor branch. These phenomena are normal and specify that the antiblocking system of brakes (АВS) works correctly.
The antiblocking system of brakes (АВS) cannot prevent road and transport incidents owing to wrong or dangerous maneuvering. Though it also promotes improvement of controllability of the car during emergency braking, always observe a safe distance from going ahead of the car. Speed of the car is necessary for reducing in adverse conditions of movement.
In the cases listed more low the brake way of cars with antiblocking brake system AVS can be longer, than at cars without it:

– At movement on гравийных roads and the roads covered with snow;
– At movement with the established chains противоскольжения;
– At movement on roads on which surface there are roughnesses, holes, etc., on bumpy roads or other roads with a bad covering.

Speed of movement on such roads should be lowered. Do not check the safety provided with the car, equipped with antiblocking system of brakes (АВS) by passage of turns or driving on high speeds as it can be dangerous to you and associates.
